Youth Voices from Detention During the Pandemic: A Conversation
10/17/2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$30Join us for an intimate conversation in person or online with the team at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.
Throughout the pandemic, we have collaborated with our partners at the Detention Center. With their help, we have maintained Storycatchers’ Temporary LockDown program remotely. Even though we cannot work with them in person, we are still guiding these adolescents to transform their personal stories into scenes and songs.
How are we doing that? Join us to find out.
“We are there to invest in the future and to awaken the possibilities of a future for all of our young people.”
– Dana Anderson, Program Manager, Temporary LockDown
The evening will take place on October 17th at the Walter Lab in the Goodman Theatre. The program will include a moderated discussion with Storycatchers program staff and key allies, as well as presentations of original youth-created work. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar while learning about some of the challenges and extraordinary triumphs of the past two and a half years. (Each guest will receive a coupon for one free drink on us.)
Thank you to our friends at the Goodman Theatre for donating their Walter Lab space for this event.
In-person reservations are closed.
Please join us on Zoom.
THANK YOU TO OUR LEAD SPONSOR FOR THEIR SUPPORT.
