The Storybox Project

September 7 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

We’re building a Storybox to house stories written by our community!

In an effort to bring more people into the Storycatchers family and to dig deeper roots directly in the communities from which our youth hail, we are building and installing Storyboxes around Chicago. Think about a Free Little Library you’ve passed on the sidewalk, but for notebooks full of original stories written by neighbors.

After we successfully installed our first Storybox last year, we are continuing our project by building and installing our second Storybox in North Lawndale in partnership with Lawndale Christian Legal Center and Lawndale Community Garden Association at the intersection of W 16th and S Hamlin Ave. In addition to box building, we will be leading fun “Story Circle” writing workshops, playing music, and serving food for all.

All are welcome. If you’d like to attend, please bring a friend and be ready to build, paint, and write! Books are also appreciated for our exchange/donation.
