Meet Zarria.
A poet, mother, artist, published author, and total force to be reckoned with. At 22 years young, Zarria is celebrating the release of her first poetry collection, Lived Through Hell, and working on her second!
Meet JK.
JK had his eye on the future right from his first days with our Changing Voices program. He got himself out of debt in under two years and established a new credit history. JK used every aspect of our program to set a stable trajectory for himself and his young son. And he has stuck to his plan, staying in touch with us to stay on track after he completed our curriculum. Even while experiencing homelessness, he kept to a weekly schedule with our dedicated support team while enrolling with Amplify Chicago’s job training program.
Now he has his own apartment and will soon begin installing solar panels right here in Chicago. The video below shows just how strongly JK believes in himself.
Everyone at Storycatchers is excited to see what the future will mean for Zarria, JK, and all the youth we serve. Our ambitious plans for growth will make us a stronger resource for system-impacted youth at all stages of court involvement.
