A Conversation: Making Art During COVID

05/23/2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for a look behind the curtain at Illinois Youth Center – Chicago.

Throughout the pandemic, we kept all of our programs going. Curious to know how we did it?

Our ally, Michael Byrd, Assistant Superintendent of Programs, and our program leaders, Mbali Guliwe and Tanji Harper, will lead a discussion about the Firewriters program for boys at IYC-Chicago during COVID.

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar while learning about some of the challenges and extraordinary triumphs of the past two years. (Each guest will receive a coupon for one free drink on us.)

We hope you can join us in person at the intimate Venus Cabaret Theater space in the Mercury Theater, located at 3745 N Southport – but if you can’t, we invite you to join us on Zoom.

Parking in such a vibrant and active neighborhood, like the Southport Corridor, can be challenging.  Allow yourself ample time to find a good spot and arrive at the show without feeling rushed. Street parking is available.

Thank you to the Mercury Theatre for donating the space.

Please register for this event by completing the form below.  Admission is free, but reservations are required. Registration will close on May 19th at 5 pm.
