GIRLS ON THE WALL GARNERS INTERNATIONAL ACCOLADES
Girls On the Wall, the documentary film that followed the 2005 Fabulous Females program from the first writing sessions through the performances of "Making It", premiered at the Chicago International Film Festival on October 11, 2009. Since then, the film has received great reviews from film festivals and critics.
Most recently, at the Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF), Heather Ross, director, received the Best Documentary prize. Movieline's senior editor Stu VanAirsdale, one of the BIFF jurists, said: "It is a moving, unaffected portrait of young women under duress, struggling to reclaim their futures through the power of art. Not all will succeed, and that honesty - along with the promise of potential - makes for both gripping drama and outstanding nonfiction."
Heather Ross and Whitney Smith attended a screening of GOTW at Martha's Vineyard Winter Film Festival on March 13, 2010.
