PRESENT TENTS ...WHAT ARE THEY DOING NOW?
Teens Together program alumni, as well as former Fabulous Females from the Illinois Youth Center-Warrenville and the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center, are still fabulous, working hard at home and in the community to educate themselves, earn a living, and take care of their children:
Angelique Boyd (Teens Together Summer Theatre Playwriting Ensembles 06 - 09) is a participant in Cindy Bandle Young Critics, a joint venture between Goodman Theatre and the Association for Women Journalists.
Andrea Buenaventura (Teen Together Playwriting, 07) is a freshman at the University of Illinois.
Angelica Garcia (writer, this fall's production of If I Cry for You) is completing a 6-week job skills training program at the Institute for Latino Progress. The Institute is also helping Angelica with her financial aid applications for college. Angelica also often accompanies Ms. P to the theater and is interested in dance training.
Shanise Jones (College of Du Page, Fabulous Females Creative Non Fiction Class 07) lives and works at Teen Access Living Program, Street and Community Outreach.
Marquitta Pollum (writer, performer in 2007 production of Believe Me) attends Malcolm X College. She is working on her Associates Degree and expecting her first child in March.
Precious Nelson (writer, 2005 production of Making It) recently joined former Fab Female Rosa Smith, director Heather Ross, and Ms. P at the debut of Girls On the Wall at the Chicago International Film Festival. Precious is working and taking care of her 5-year-old daughter.
