Ira Glass, longtime MTW supporter and host of This American Life on National Public Radio, served as master of ceremonies for a Celebration of 25 Years of Music Theatre Workshop on February 28, 2009. The Arts Club of Chicago provided an elegant setting for the brunch and performance. Guests gathered to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the company founded by Meade Palidofsky and Claudia Howard Queen.

MTW Teaching Artists, former Performance Ensemble members, and current and former Teens Together Ensemble members performed a musical medley of songs from 25 years of MTW musicals. Glass created and performed a This American Life script that included stories from Fabulous Females at Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center, Teens Together at the Field Museum and Teens Together at Columbia College.
