Meade Presents MTW Model To National Audience

Posted: 4/25/2008

The National Community Arts Convening and Research Project took place on the campus of the Maryland Institute College of Arts (MICA) from March 16-18, 2008.   The Editorial Board of the Convening and Research Project selected Meade Palidofsky’s text, “Creating an Institutional Model for Social Change” as one of 68 papers addressing key issues in the field.

“Creating an Institutional Model for Social Change,” detailed the MTW process and the development of the IYC “Fabulous Females” program for a national audience.

Rather than a typical conference presentation, the convening posted the 68 papers online. Attendees read and considered questions, topics and concerns prior to the meeting.

The convening provided an opportunity for those attending to meet and share resources and models for best practices in the field; to define and solve current challenges; to identify and discuss new research and generate new ideas; to develop strong leadership; and to cultivate new partnerships.

MTW’s current practicum student from Columbia College, Brandi Rose, and board co-chair Phyllis Johnson also represented MTW at the conference.
