The Changing Voices Ensemble, Storycatchers’ newest program for recently released or otherwise court-involved youth, completed a four-week tour with a performance at Amundsen High School on September 30, 2014.
The Ensemble presented its original musical Struggling in These Streets. Funded with an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant grant from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, the 18-week pilot program provided creative, supported employment for 19 teen and young adult participants.
Storycatchers worked in partnership with the Community Violence Prevention Program of the Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation and Target Area Development Corporation’s Community Support Advisory Council to produce the program.
