Love Is A Super Power tells the story of several teens preparing to perform a musical at the Celebration of Local Heroes Ceremony on Labor Day. The Firewriters Ensemble at Illinois Youth Center-Chicago (IYC-Chicago) had an outstanding turnout of 85 audience members for their winter musical Easy Targets on Sunday, February 22, 2015. In addition to the twelve IYC-Chicago residents, the Ensemble also included Apprentice Teaching Actors Kateri Halbleib and Maushea House from the Teens Together Ensemble, as well as IYC Assistant Superintendent of Programs Michael Byrd and IYC-Chicago teacher Barbara Fernandez.
The Temporary LockDown Ensemble at Cook County Juvenile Detention Center (CCJDC) will present a preview performance of the original musical Man of the House at 6 PM on Friday, April 17, 2015.

TEENAGE TEARS, the newest Fabulous Females musical, tells the story of 16-year-old Laylah and her 12-year-old brother, Day Day, as they desperately try to find out the truth about their mother’s whereabouts. Told by their oldest sister that the mother is on a work trip, the siblings discover that she is, in fact, in jail. As the younger siblings react to this news about Mom, the play reveals the profound effects of an incarcerated parent on an entire family.

On August 7 and 8, the Storycatchers Temporary LockDown Ensemble (TLD) at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (CCJTDC) presented Chasing the Truth, a staged reading of work developed in a special, intensive five-week program that Storycatchers created in partnership with the Nancy B. Jefferson Alternative School at CCJTDC.
Portraying both humans and animals presented a creative challenge to the 2014 Teens Together Summer Touring Ensemble. The17-member youth ensemble explored movement and vocalization techniques to create each character.
The Changing Voices Ensemble, Storycatchers’ newest program for recently released or otherwise court-involved youth, completed a four-week tour with a performance at Amundsen High School on September 30, 2014.
